Iconic hotel, most of the services were good. A room change for our group was done without an issue. Rooms on one side have a stunning view, the others have a good view. The rooms are small. Most of the facilities worked, except some lifts, which were therefore slow. Not all rooms were serviced properly every day. Breakfasts were excellent, but the wait staff should spend less time on their phones.

Hotel will definitely take you to soviet era. Overall expreience was great. All the tourist attraction are very close to this hotel. There are two categories in this hotel budget and normal hotel. Lots of options available in the breakfast.

We stayed for two nights. Check in was smooth, there was English speaking staff at the reception. Breakfast was wide but very few hot items.Rooms were small, twin beds were joined together, mattress was sagging,no locker, no blackout curtains . The outsourced spa was excellent.

The location, breakfast, salon and all was perfect. The best part of my stay was my experience at the check-in. I was attended by Mr. Farman. He is an extraordinary person. Customer service and satisfaction was top pf his agenda. His aim was to make the stay super comfortable for me and at the same time keep it affordable. He worked out the best option for stay and transport for me. I recommend Mr. Farman to every traveler. I am sure he will soon grow in the hierarchy and become manager of the hotel. I look forward to seeing him again.

I stayed in this hotel primarily because it's so iconic it's on the 5000 tenge note. There's hotels with better reviews, but apart from staying in a piece of history there are good reasons to stay at the Hotel Kazakhstan. We arrived late at night as many flights do from Europe and the hotel organised a taxi to pick us up. This was a reasonable price and very convenient as we had no tenge yet and the fee was added to our room bill. The cafe, bars and restaurant are open till 3 am and the hotel is still buzzy late at night. The bus stop on the Dostyk Avenue is outside the hotel and you can go one way to the Shymbulak ski resort or the other way into the city centre cheaply. The metro is a short walk away too. The downside to the hotel is that it's large and busy and has a slight old Soviet feel to it. This is also a plus point as far as i'm concerned, but breakfast was a chaotic affair.
